TechMaine Launches Online e-Learning Resource Center

TechMaine's Careers and Education Portal expands bringing thousands of e-Learning courses to help individuals re-skill for today's job market.

TechMaine has expanded its Careers and Education Portal to include several thousand e-Learning courses (from balancing work and family to project management, and from using a PC to networking in an enterprise environment); an Online Reference Library (with more than 1000 business and technical books); a Business Skills Video Library; and a special best-of-class Roadmaps to Success offering of educational programs to help develop Leadership, Project Management, and Sales skills. TechMaine blends quality educational content with its Careers Portal to enable individuals to easily find the just-in-time training they need to keep themselves and their companies at the leading edge of innovation.

With the assistance of the Maine Office of Innovation and the Maine Technology Institute TechMaine is introducing an offering of e-Learning programs to create a unique blended-learning environment. The e-Learning resources will keep Maine workers and companies on the leading edge of business, innovation, and technology development.

"Today's workforce is struggling to balance training needs with time constraints and travel budgets", says Joe Kumiszcza, executive director for TechMaine. "We now have quality educational content, available anytime-anywhere, within our Career Portal to enable individuals to easily find the just-in-time training they need to keep themselves and their companies ahead of the competition". Kumiszcza continues "Because not every individual is comfortable with online learning, the TechMaine Education Portal points to the educational facilities that offer traditional instructor-led-training for technology-related certifications and degrees."

The recent Maine IT Skills Census surfaced a desire for more flexible, just-in-time training programs for both business and technical skills. The e-Learning programs address those needs and complement TechMaine's other educational endeavors to help encourage a learning culture that supports individual and organizational success. The most crucial skills for success are the ability to learn, adapt, and accept new challenges. Developing this learning culture across Maine is key in today's knowledge economy.

TechMaine chose MindLeaders, Dublin, OH, as the source for e-Learning resources. MindLeaders has decades of experience in the online training marketplace and their courseware is exceptional. MindLeaders' training programs offer a user friendly interface, a consistent learning format, and a comprehensive interactive e-Learning catalog to bring corporate and individual learners an effective and affordable learning solution.
