PenBay Media is seeking a senior .Net Web Application Developer for a 6-12 months project to enhance a federal government web application, with the potential for additional work. The Developer will be working with a project manager and communicating with the client. The team will be enhancing an existing web application in a hybrid Agile environment with defined feature requirements. This position works remotely but may be required to travel to Washington, DC, no more than once per quarter. The Developer must be able to work effectively with a remote project team and client, using web conferencing, Slack, Jira, Confluence, version control, and other tools. In addition, the Developer must be able to process client feedback and provide valuable roadmap options for consideration, while also driving the application development efforts. The ideal candidate can work independently and communicate well to both technical and non-technical individuals. Candidates in Maine or New England are preferred.
Design, develop, test, and support enhancements to a federal government web application including database, middle tier, and user interface components.
Analyze user and business needs and software requirements to design solutions.
Develop clear technical software/system documentation.
Communicate clearly and professionally with project manager, peers, and clients.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with direct client interaction, requirements evaluation, sizing, and prioritization.
Ability to balance multiple simultaneous feature development threads.
This position requires obtaining a federal Department of Defense security clearance (must be a U.S. Citizen).
